Beautiful Spring Wedding at The Coseners House in Abingdon

Spring weddings always have a special atmosphere, and this recent wedding at The Coseners House was a perfect example of that. With sunshine over the River Thames, fresh blossom around the gardens and a relaxed, happy atmosphere throughout the day, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph.

As an Oxfordshire Wedding Photographer, I’m lucky enough to work at some incredible venues across the county, but The Coseners House has always been one of my favourites. I’m proud to be one of the venue’s preferred wedding suppliers and over the years I’ve photographed dozens of weddings there in every season imaginable. Every wedding feels different, but the venue always delivers something special.

One of the things couples love most about The Coseners House is its location. Sitting right beside the River Thames in the heart of historic Abingdon-on-Thames, it offers a brilliant mix of character, scenery and atmosphere. The historic buildings and nearby Abbey Meadows create so many opportunities for natural and relaxed Oxford Wedding Photography, all within a short walk of the venue itself.

For this spring wedding, the gardens looked incredible. The blossom trees were out, the riverside pathways were full of colour and the soft spring light made everything feel calm and romantic. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks outside overlooking the river while I captured lots of natural moments between family and friends. Those relaxed moments are often some of my favourites to photograph because they really tell the story of the day.

The couple were amazing to work with and completely trusted me to guide them through their photographs without taking them away from the celebrations for too long. That’s always my aim with wedding photography — keeping things relaxed, natural and enjoyable rather than overly posed. We took a short walk around the grounds of The Coseners House, stopping at a few of my favourite locations for portraits while still allowing them plenty of time to enjoy the day with their guests.

One of the reasons I enjoy photographing weddings at this venue so much is the variety it offers. You have the riverside setting, the beautiful gardens, the historic architecture and the nearby abbey buildings all within minutes of each other. It means couples get a fantastic mix of images in their final gallery, no matter what the weather or season brings.

The staff at The Coseners House are always fantastic as well. Having worked there many times, it’s clear how much effort goes into making every wedding run smoothly. The team are friendly, organised and genuinely care about creating a great experience for couples and their guests, which makes such a difference on the day.

As someone who specialises in Oxfordshire Wedding Photography, venues like The Coseners House are always a joy to return to. The combination of history, riverside views and relaxed atmosphere makes it one of the best wedding venues in Oxfordshire, especially during the spring and summer months.
