For me, The Earth Trust in Little Wittenham is one of those places. The setting, the views, the atmosphere — it all comes together to create something really special for couples who want a wedding that feels natural, relaxed and full of character.
I’m proud to say that I’m also one of The Earth Trust’s trusted wedding suppliers, which means I know the venue well and have had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful weddings there.
A Truly Unique Oxfordshire Wedding Venue
Nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside beneath the iconic Wittenham Clumps, The Earth Trust offers something a little different from your typical wedding venue. It’s perfect for couples who love the outdoors and want their wedding to feel connected to nature.
The Fison Barn, with its rustic beams and warm atmosphere, makes an incredible space for ceremonies and receptions.
It’s full of character and can accommodate up to 85 seated guests, and looks fantastic in photographs, especially when the light pours in during the late afternoon. Adjoining is the Poem Tree Barn, which hosts the bar and catering facilities, providing a more relaxed area - a perfect place for mingling.
Step outside into the private courtyard, and you can benefit from a purpose-built marquee structure, providing your guests with cover. Within a few steps from the barn, you’re surrounded by rolling countryside, open skies and some of the most stunning landscapes Oxfordshire has to offer.
As a wedding photographer, locations like this are a dream — there are endless opportunities for beautiful, natural images.

One of the reasons I enjoy working at The Earth Trust so much is the variety it offers. You can move seamlessly from the rustic barn interior to the sweeping countryside.
For couple portraits, the nearby Wittenham Clumps provide an incredible backdrop, particularly around sunset when the light is soft and golden. It’s the kind of setting that creates those timeless photographs couples love to frame on their walls.
Another thing I appreciate about the venue is how relaxed the atmosphere is. Weddings here tend to feel very personal and genuine, which always shines through in the photographs.
