Wedding Photography in Oxfordshire - Some of my frequently asked questions…

These are some frequently asked questions previously from our lovely clients…Not covered here? Drop us a line.

I am quite nervous about having my picture taken. Is this normal?

Yes. Sometimes individuals can be nervous. This is quite normal especially if it is your Wedding day. Really don’t worry, your shoot won’t begin until you are totally relaxed and feel comfortable. If you have booked me for your wedding day we will have met beforehand to decide upon the style of images you require e.g. posed or a more relaxed style. I will ensure you are totally comfortable before any images are taken.

Do you have tips for making me look my best for the final images…

Yes absolutely. Believe it or not, everyone has a good side to photograph !! It’s about establishing which side that is…I also work alongside a make-up artist if you require one. Click on the YouTube link below by Peter Hurley (NY Photographer) for tips and hints on how to boost your confidence prior to and during the shoot.

Can you alter the images once they are taken?

Yes, I use powerful industry-standard post-processing image software to enhance images to ensure they (and you) look as good as they can be.

Do you shoot in RAW or JPEG?

Both. I ensure that two memory cards capture RAW image data and JPEG images at the same time.

Is there a difference between RAW and JPEG images?

Yes. Raw files are much larger file sizes but allow a greater range of editing power within your images. After your event with me is over, work continues on each and every image adjusting parameters to ensure that the colours, clarity, contrast, and crop, etc are just as they should be. Lightroom and Photoshop are powerful industry-standard editing tools that even allow the complete removal of some aspects of an image if requested or required. Often one image can take a few hours to retouch. This is one reason why you may not receive your finalised images for several days after the shoot. They will be worth the wait, I assure you !!!

If I come to your studio, is there car parking and what are the costs?

There is plenty of free and secure car parking at the studio location.

Will you travel to a location of my choosing for a shoot?

Of course. There might be some associated costs for travel however we can discuss this at the time of your inquiry.

Can I bring somebody with me for my shoot at the studio?

Of course, they can help me direct the shoot!

Can I bring a change of outfit for the shoot?

Yes, my packages and pricing section suggests more information on this…

How do I receive my chosen images?

Typically you receive them via a personal web-based image-sharing site once they have been edited. I can share them via a USB stick if you would prefer this method (USB supplied by the client). Depending upon workload I aim to provide the final edited images within 7-14 days. See RAW v JPEG images, above to understand these timeframes. My Wedding clients can also choose a Wedding Album (not included in package costs) as well as receiving digital copies of their images.

Can other people purchase or have access to the images if they want to view them via the image-sharing site?

Yes. Depending upon the agreement at the time of booking, I can arrange for others (e.g. guests at a wedding) to view the gallery and purchase prints from my photo lab directly. They can be ordered from the gallery site and paid for directly. This saves you the client, having to send out multiple prints to multiple individuals.

Can I request certain images in black and white as well as colour?

Yes, chosen images can be supplied in black and white at no extra cost.

Can I pay via a credit/debit card?

Yes, I can receive payments via chip and pin.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

For weddings and events that are booked well in advance, I do require a deposit to secure the date. This amount is non-refundable if you cancel the booking. If however, you need to amend the date that’s fine provided I am not booked with other clients

I am planning my wedding but due to the pandemic and Covid-19, I am not sure how to proceed. Can you offer any advice?

We fully appreciate your concerns and will work with you to overcome your concerns…. Click HERE for our recent blog offering TIPS and Hints in planning a Covid wedding.

Once I receive my images do I own the copyright?

Yes, they are your images. You are also free to make copies and give them to your relatives/friends etc

What I require does not fit the packages you offer. What do you advise?

Please contact me. My packages are designed to help clients choose what they need. If a location, style of photography, or timings of a session is not listed, please contact me directly and I will do my best to help.

I am unable to attend your studio, are you able to travel to my home for the shoot?

Yes, this is possible. We would need to discuss the space and size of the area that you would require the images to be taken within, but all possible with careful planning.

I have a question that is not mentioned above can I call you without any obligation to utilise your service?

Of course. I want you to be totally satisfied with the service I offer before you make any decision to book me.

Do you comply with COVID -19 secure rules and regulations?

Yes. We are Covid secure, able to offer masks, visors, gels and NHS track and trace data recording. Our client’s safety and well-being is paramount. Some aspects of makeup (if booked) might not be available for your session. Please discuss this before attending the session.

I have a session booked with you but I feel unwell with COVID-related symptoms. Should I cancel?

Yes, you will have to but please don't worry. We can re-arrange your session when you are symptom-free and have completed your isolation period. There are no additional costs if you cancel for these reasons.
